Amidst the spate of increasing public agitations occasioned by the unceasing hardships in Nigeria, any form of gathering now in any part of the country could easily be construed to be anti-Government. However, in direct contrast to that prevailing social wind, will be a burst of fresh air as Nurses and Midwives from all over the six geo-political zones gather in Abuja to not only thank The Almighty for the achievements recorded by their Association, but to also rub minds about issues relating to greater strides under the leadership of Mr Michael Ekuma Nnachi.

The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has concluded plans for the 2024 induction of their State Administrative Council (SAC) Members. And, as if to further expand the prevailing national debate on the Nigerian leadership question, the theme of the scheduled grand induction is aptly “LEADERSHIP CAPACITY-BUILDING: A TOOL TO EXPLORING THE CORE VALUES OF TRADE UNIONISM.”
While former NANNM President, Alhaji L.H Dutsinma, would be the Chairman of the Occasion, the Special Guest of Honour would be the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Daju Kachollom S,mni, who is expected to declare the event open. All Presidents and General Secretaries of NANNM Affiliates shall be Guests of Honour, just as National President Michael Nnachi shall double as Host in the event fixed to hold at Veragold Suites and Apartments, Public Service Institute at Dutse Alhaji, Kubwa-Abuja from 9am each day from Tuesday 27th February to 1st March 2024.
According to impeccable sources close to the Central Planning Committee of the 2024 NANNM Induction, a special feature of the four-day event will be the very veritable papers to be delivered by erudite scholars as well as seasoned Unionists. These papers are expected to touch all aspects of unionism, such as Trade Union Organisation and Politics; Trade Unions and Governance; NANNM Constitution and Applicability; Negotiation Skills and Collective Bargaining; History of Trade Unionism, with particular reference to NANNM; Effective Communication Strategies; Trade Union Finances: Sources Applications and Responsibility; Role of Auditors in Safeguarding Union Assets; as well as Leadership and Conflicts Resolution.
It will, no doubt, be memorable four days of great interactions as Nigerian Nurses and Midwives once again remember the legendary Mother of Passion, Florence Nightingale, and remind each other of the core values and essence of their professional calling as espoused in their anthem.
